Chapter 3

Days had passed since John's panic attack and Brad had noticed that John had become more distant than usual. He knew that John was still processing what had happened, but he couldn't help but feel worried about him. He decided to bring up his concerns during dinner one night.

"John, is everything okay? You seem a bit off lately," Brad said, gently.

John looked up from his plate, surprised. "I'm fine, why do you ask?"

"Well, you've been more quiet than usual and you haven't been sleeping well. I just want to make sure you're okay," Brad explained.

John sighed, realizing he couldn't keep his feelings bottled up forever. "I'm just still scared, Brad. I keep replaying that day in my head and I can't shake off the feeling that he's still out there, waiting for me."

Brad reached for John's hand across the table. "I understand, John. But you can't let your fear control you. You're safe now and I'm here for you. We can work through this together."

John smiled weakly, grateful for Brad's words. "I know, I'm sorry. I just can't help but feel like I'm not strong enough to move past this."

Brad shook his head. "You're one of the strongest people I know, John. You've already come so far and I believe in you. We'll take it one step at a time, okay?"

John nodded, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him. He knew that he still had a long way to go, but with Brad's unwavering love and support, he could face anything.

As they finished their dinner, Brad made a promise to himself to always be there for John, no matter what. He knew that healing from trauma was a long and difficult process, but he was willing to do whatever it took to help his partner move forward.

Together, they walked into the living room, hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
